Today we spent the afternoon the Big Freeze Festival - an indoor family festival running over the school holidays in Melbourne. Hunter had never laid eyes on snow before so we thought it would be a great opportunity to gauge his reaction before making a long trek out to the snowlfields, and we were so glad we did.
Aside from the snow pit itself, the festival is made up of lots of other great interactive play-zones like a snow forest, snow village, construction and craft zones, and you can even be the feature of a giant sized snowglobe!
The event was sold out today but it wasn't overly crowded with plenty of facilities, ample parking, and quite surprisingly the food and drinks on offer weren't exorbitantly priced either.
Of course the most fun to be had was in the snow pit itself, especially when chunks of ice were being sprayed around and snow balls were being thrown!
If you are looking for something to do this week with the kiddies that is indoors, and value for money then this is definitely worth a visit, and best of all parents are likely to have just as much fun too!
The Big Freeze Festival runs until the 10th of July - click on the link below for more information and to purchase tickets
