A healthy start to 2016


As most of you are aware I am a huge advocate for the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide and have been using the exercise and nutritional guides for 20 weeks now. I am feeling much more energetic and happy within myself since embarking on a fitness regime and feel that it is really important for Mums to look after themselves with fresh food, and physical activity (with the occassional treat or glass of wine of course!)

Recently, Mummy Misgivings has received some correspondence and recipe guides/books from 'The Healthy Mummy' and I must say it looks pretty impressive and quite easy to follow - there was even a Christmas and New Year cookbook with some healthy recipes and tips for the festive season, which is most often the time of diet-blowout.

This week week we received a copy of the healthy kids cookbook in the mail and it has some great tips for Mums who are starting to introduce solids and some really easy to follow puree recipes. There were also some great lunch idea for the older kids that can be introduced as part of the back-to-school routine, and some yummy dinner ideas with hidden veggies for the fussy eaters. For me personally, I often lack some imagination in the toddler-food stakes and find myself repeating a lot of recipes so I am looking forwarded to giving a few new ones a go.

Although I am not following 'The Healthy Mummy' guides myself, I did look into their 28 challenge and it definitely appears to be a great starting point for Mums out there who are looking ot embark on a healthy eating and exercise regime. Basically, you receive monthly guides with over 100 new recipes to choose from a month, 28 days of family friendly customisable meal plans, daily exercise plans and daily support. All workout plans can be done from the comfort of your own home and without the need for gym memberships which is a definite drawcard for me (and undoubtedly for the busy Mums out there)
